I have served on the Board since 2005. My current term expires
in 2009. During my tenure on the Board of Education I have served
as Trustee for 2 years and as V.P. for 1 year. I serve on committees
such as Building and Grounds and Athletic.
I live in Maple River township and graduated from Inland Lakes.
I've had 4 years Apprenticeship from Lansing Commuity College
for Heat & Frost Insulators Local #47 union. I have been married
for 14 years to my wife Janine and we have four children. Victoria
(Tori) is 12, Joshua (Josh) is 9, Kaleb is 7 and Isabella (Bell)
is 4.
The reasons I serve on the Board of Education is with four children
in the Pellston school system, I want to offer my help in seeing
to the smooth operation of our schools.
My goal is to let people know what a great school we have so
that our enrollment will increase. I suggested that Pellston Public
Schools consider a pre-school program that would help to keep
our local young ones in the area. By doing this we hope that parents
of these pre-school aged children will continue educating their
children at Pellston Public Schools. As a result, we have a cooperative
agreement with Bear Cub Day Care/Pre-School in Pellston.
My greatest challenges have been dealing with student behavior
issues and the question of closing our campus during the lunch
hour. On the other hand it has been a joy to watch new and innovative
ideas being implemented at Pellston Public Schools, all for the
benefit of our students.
While on the Board I look forward to seeing our enrollment grow
to the point where we will need to add on to our buildings.
My personal interests include volunteering for the fire dept.,
camping, hunting & fishing, and spending time with my family. |
